The Carolina Youth Symphony’s (CYS) mission is to encourage artistic excellence in a nurturing environment by providing qualified musicians the highest quality orchestral training and performance opportunities.

CYS is all about building a welcoming community for young musicians, their families, and everyone who supports their love of music. We endeavor to help students from all walks of life feel confident and proud of their musical achievements. Through a mix of discipline and fun, CYS strives to create a lasting appreciation for music that our members will carry with them for years to come.

Over its 70-year history, CYS has evolved into a vibrant organization with four orchestra levels and over 210 members. We draw talented musicians from over 73 schools, 32 cities, and two states.
