What is The Miracle League? It’s hope, determination, and a display of human spirit that is unequaled. And of course…there’s baseball. There is something about playing the game that lights up a youngster’s eyes. For children with disabilities that opportunity can often be difficult to achieve. Baseball diamonds weren’t exactly designed for wheelchairs and mobility devises. Miracle League removes the barriers that keep children with disabilities off the baseball field and lets them experience the joy of America’s favorite pastime. But it’s more than playing a game. The Miracle League is about making new friends, building selfesteem and being treated like other kids. To help the athletes, The Miracle League uses a “buddy” system – pairing each player with an able-bodied peer. The result is a bond that cannot be described. “Every Child Deserves a Chance to Play Baseball”

Cross Timbers Rotary Club is hosting the 7th Annual Rhythms at the River Walk in Flower Mound on September 21st from 10:00am – 2:00pm. This free, family-friendly event includes food trucks, live music, vendor booths and activities for the kids.
At 1:00pm, a record setting 30,000 rubber ducks will race down the river. Come join us for a fun-filled family event!
The first lucky duck to cross the finish line wins a $2,500 gift card with more prizes through tenth place.
