Cloud 9 Charities
I appreciate you visiting my page. I am a proud member of Cross Timbers Rotary Club and I also serve on the Board of Cloud 9 Charities. For me, the Duck Derby is very personal. With the funds raised each year, Cross Timbers Rotary has been able to provide much needed funds to various local charities, and Cloud 9 Charities has been a recipient of grants in prior years!

A Cloud 9 Charities Initiative
Mission: To provide temporary housing to families in our community who are in crisis and need safe shelter.

Rescue is an ongoing program that was founded in December of 2012. After seeing a 60 Minutes TV program describing the amount of homeless, school-age children in our nation, Cloud 9 Charities’ Founder, Kim Cloud, discovered that there were hundreds of homeless children registered in the Lewisville ISD alone. Thus the birth of Bedtime Rescue.

Bedtime Rescue was created to provide temporary housing for homeless families in our local community. This program brings relief to families to help them get back on their feet and make long-term plans for a successful future. As of January 2023, Bedtime Rescue has housed homeless Denton County families for over 3,500 nights and looks to continue these efforts through local grants, Cloud 9 fundraising events, and private donations.

This is the 7th year for Cross Timbers Rotary Club to host this community-wide event that has provided over $200,000 in grants to local charitable organizations. Once again, we are hosting the Rhythms at the Riverwalk in Flower Mound on September 21st from 10:00am – 2:00pm. Our 7th annual event includes food trucks, music, vendor booths and activities for the kids. At 12:30pm, we will race 30,000 ducks. First lucky duck wins a $2,500 VISA gift card with more prizes through tenth place.

I’m asking for your help!!

Duck Derby is a fun annual event where thousands of rubber ducks—sponsored by individuals just like you—are released on September 21st at the Riverwalk in Flower Mound, Texas.

With fierce determination, they fight their way to the finish line where the first 4 to cross win Cash Prizes! Many other lucky ducks will claim fantastic runner up prizes. All proceeds go to support local Denton County Charities and it's a great way to give back and have fun! Each duck is only $5 and it could really help save a life!

Through these duck sales, our Rotary provided grants last year to:
Adaptive Training Foundation
Boy Scouts of America
CASA of Denton County
Children's Advocacy Center

Communities in Schools of North Texas
Cross Timbers YMCA
Cumberland Youth & Family Services

Watch as over 30,000 rubber ducks race to the finish line at the 5th annual Rhythms at the Riverwalk event on Saturday, September 17th. Hurry and adopt your lucky ducks to have a shot at our QUACKtastic prizes! All proceeds from this event will be supporting local nonprofits.
