Miracle League Arlington

In the heart of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, something truly magical is happening on the baseball diamond. It’s a place where children and young adults with disabilities are given the opportunity to experience the joy of American’s favorite pastime, baseball, without any limitations. This extraordinary organization is know as the Miracle League DFW, and it’s changing lives one game at a time. Founded in 2005 by the late Doug Inman and with the generosity of the City of Arlington the first Miracle League field was built.

The mission of the Miracle League DFW is to provide children and young adults the opportunity to play baseball regardless of their abilities in a safe and nurturing environment. Many players in our program have shown improved dexterity, mobility, verbal and social skills.

Games are two (2) innings and last approximately one (1) hour; every player bats, every player circles the bases, and every player scores each inning (the last one up gets a Home Run). Every player is introduced (nicknames encouraged!) by the game-day announcer, who calls the play-by-play action for the families and spectators. Games end in a tie score, so each team wins. Teams are named for Major League Baseball teams.

Family members, and community youth and adult volunteers serve as a Buddy, both at bat and while in the field, for the entire game. A day at the Miracle League field is truly a family-friendly experience!
