We are lucky that we love what we do (providing music programs for kids), where we do it (AFA), and our awesome colleagues (see pic). AFA is Houston's largest independent nonprofit provider of music education programs for young musicians in grades 3 through 12. We started the duck race in 2018 to create awareness of the amazing work AFA does in the community and to raise funds to support our programs. On Saturday, November 2 at 10am, we will launch our 6th annual Bayou City Duck Race at Allen's Landing Park where 5,000+ rubber ducks will race along Buffalo Bayou. Don't worry...none of the ducks are left treading in the water. The top 10 ducks to finish will win a prize like $2,500, Raising Cane's chicken for a year, performing arts tickets, and restaurant gift cards.
You can help our team by adopting a single duck, a quack pack, a flock of ducks or more to support AFA. You don't have to be present to win, but you won't want to miss seeing the ducks dumped off the bridge or hearing performances from AFA students and friends. The best part is that all proceeds benefit AFA's Play It Forward Fund which helped 88% of its students attend their programs last season. Your support will have an impact!
