The Food Bank of the Golden Crescent (FBGC) is a distribution warehouse and support system for 90+ member agencies in an eleven-county service area that includes Calhoun, Colorado, DeWitt, Goliad, Gonzales, Jackson, Lavaca, Matagorda, Refugio, Wharton and Victoria Counties. Our member agencies include food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, group homes, non-profit daycares, foster programs and senior centers.
Our mission is "helping heal the hurt of hunger" by supporting the needs of children, families, and seniors through food distribution, mobile food pantries, nutrition education, advocacy, social service assistance, strategic partnerships, and other hunger relief programs such as our Kids Backpacks and Hunters for the Hungry.
Food insecurity is a reality for many individuals in our region. Last year, we experienced a 56% increase in distribution across our eleven-county service area and this does not appear to be slowing anytime soon. We are committed to continuing our mission and helping our neighbors in need.
