Maverick’s lil peeps

KinderMourn is a non-profit organization that provides help and hope for bereaved parents, grieving children and teens by offering support and counseling programs to those who need it. We have gone to KinderMourn for individual counseling as well as group counseling. They have provided us with support without financial strain, and a community of people who understand what it like to go through the unthinkable. By adopting ducks you are helping KinderMourn continue it's mission.

Our Story Maverick was born on October 13, 2021. Due to complications from severe preeclampsia he was born at 28 weeks, weighing 1 pound 3 ounces. He was little but fierce and was loved by everyone in the NICU. Only 16 days old he developed necrotizing enterocolitis. NEC causes an inflammatory process that can lead to intestinal tissue damage. Surgery was done to remove the damaged intestines, but it was to much for him to handle and left us shortly after surrounded by love. As parents we make sure to keep Maverick's memory alive, and this duck race is only one of the ways we do that.
